I wish I could avoid every hypocrite everywhere, but we're gonna rub shoulders with them wherever are!! Sad fact of life. We just have choose which individuals in any given sitation are the type of people who appeal to our hearts and minds as like-minded folks.

(included subtle 'seeds' as well) i was puzzled to see a member of the service committee come in as part of the spectator group, because he never leaves his family to come into the 'b' school.

(I was wondering if I'd been deliberately assigned the material, to test me)
Anyway the point is this, (as my wife pointed out later) every week, the COBE attends 'B' school as part of the audience, but this week he was ill and was absent.
Question: Is there some kind of 'testing the inspired expressions' going on by the elders - monitoring what the flock say in their talks?
From now on I'm going to watch more closely to see if this is a pattern. Any other congs experience this?

it is really getting me down as it simply does not compute from my perspective (and many on here i suppose) how and why rational and sane individuals would swallow all the garbage... the phrase i hate the most is "imperfect men", it gets me so wound up when i point out the flip-flops and flaws, and then i ask how anyone would follow 'imperfect men'... up next is "but i truely believe they are god's chosen organisation", but i cannot find any basis for that belief whatsoever... arrgghhh.

You could get your wife to ask her instructor a simple question - What will happen to me if I get baptized and then find that I do not agree with some teachings of the WTBTS, can I still be one of Jehovah's Witnesses?

Even Clarke's Commentary on the Scriptures, written in the 19th century, correctly pointed out that Paul was speaking about figuratively "dying" to one's former sinful life!

i stay at my grandmother's house and pay a little rent to her (r500) as it is all i can afford.
i do however buy and take care of all my own food, washing etc.. this morning at 6 am, my bedroom door opend, slammed shut, heard the key turn a couple of times, open and slam shut again.
i woke up with a fright as that has never happened....first thought is someone is in the house.
Now that you've alerted the police about your psychotic relative, just calmly and firmly warn your grandfather that you will not be threatened with violence in your own home, and that you are prepared to use whatever means you have to, in order to legally defend yourself.
Bullies don't like being promised that they face violence in return for their behaviour!!

My wife and I are still in, with no intentions of committing "suicide" at the moment.
My Scriptural reasonings given to one like-minded Witness relative and a very good Catholic friend were these;
2 Thess. 2:11 - God is allowing the corruptions within the Christian congregations worldwide, whoever & wherever they are! (Rev. ch 2 & 3)
1 Peter 4:17 - God's judgement through Christ will begin with those who present themselves as Christians, whoever & wherever they are!
Ezekiel 9:4 - The sighing & groaning would be done by those within 'Jerusalem', whoever & wherever is represented here!
Matthew 24:13 - Christ said that endurance would be needed. That indicates maintaining integrity, in spite of what is going on around us!
The Bible gives numerous warnings about false teachers arising within the Christian congregations, whoever & wherever they were! Absolutely true, isn't it?
isn`t their some unified message that all ex-jw`s could send to any and everybody they know on the eve of the memorial ?

i mean to say they have a campaign to reach as many people as possible with their memorial invitation.. why cant we have a campaign to reach as many jw`s we know to expose the wt/religion at the same time ?.
People have to have their thought processes stimulated so that they can reason for themselves. Use the same process which we are directed to use on the ministry - ask a question, wait for the response, and then provide the scripture to give the Bible's reasoning on the subject. Their choice to accept or reject it!

Answer: Yes in 1914, according to a prophecy in Daniel as well as all the signs we see today.
Question: So if Christ has returned already, why do you still have the Memorial celebrating his death, because at 1 Corinthians 11:26, the apostle Paul makes it clear that the Memorial will stop when Christ arrives. Also, why would Jesus repeatedly mislead his follower with false statements that none of his disciples would know when he was returning, and yet you claim it was in 1914? (Matthew 24:43,44)
i moved this comment from another thread to here as i felt it deserved its own thread.. one thing i've noticed is that the letters from paul often include the phrase "all the holy ones", such as at eph 1:15. some translations render this "all the saints".
it seems to be differentiating two groups.
those who are "holy ones" and those who are not.
Similarly, (IMHO) the wording that the apostle Peter used at 1 Peter 2:9 is describing various characteristics of the same group of people - not separate groups!
"However, you are a chosen race, a royal Priesthood, a Holy Nation, a people who were specially selected to announce the virtues of the One who called you out of darkness and into His wonderful light. 10 So, although you once weren't a nation (gr. laos or people), you're now a nation of God."
